The Management Committee will hold the following functions and powers attributed to it in the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies of the University of Almería:

  • Academic, economic and administrative management of doctoral studies at the UAL
  • Recognition of EIEDT (Equivalent Research Evaluation for Thesis Supervision), which enables the possibility of supervising thesis. 
  • Resolve the proposals for the creation of new doctoral programs carried out by Faculties, Schools, Department Councils or Research Centers and those for the modification of existing ones. 
  • Authorize a tutor to belong to more than one doctoral program. 
  • Approve the incorporation of new tutors to the doctoral programs.
  • Study and approval, if applicable, of extraordinary requests.
  • Study and approval, if applicable, of requests for recognition of foreign doctoral degrees.
  • Study and approval, if applicable, of international co-guardianships and other types of agreements.
  • Resolve conflicts that arise directly against the Academic Committees.
