The offer of the "Doctorate in Biotechnology and Industrial Bioprocesses Applied to Agri-Food and the Environment" Program, oriented towards Biotechnology, is supported both by the economic and social interest in this set of applied techniques and by the important substrate of researchers and teams that UAL counts on.
Biotechnology has a wide field of application in agriculture and biomedicine, but also in carbon-based activities and industries, such as energy production, chemical and pharmaceutical products, and waste or residue management.
The objective is to promote the development of a bioeconomy based on scientific knowledge that improves the competitiveness of our companies in the health, agri-food and industrial sectors, and which also protects and improves the environment.
It should be noted that the UAL has a Master’s in Industrial and Agri-Food Biotechnology, which has also been developed by the two departments involved in this offer, and which is currently in its 3rd edition. This Master’s is one of the most sought after at UAL since the number of applications for each of its editions has been around 40 students. It is designed to provide the specific knowledge that supports the research lines carried out within the scope of the proposed PhD Program.
Likewise, the degree is offered by UAL, integrated into the CEIA3 (Campus of International Excellence in Agri-Food), which gives it an enormously significant national and international projection.
