Master's Thesis

The Master’s Thesis involves the students carrying out a project, report or study, in which they apply and develop their acquired knowledge. This will be carried out individually, under the guidance of the supervisor(s) assigned. Joint work will not be allowed.
Master’s Theses must be carried out during the final stage of the curriculum and be oriented towards assessing competencies associated with the degree. The work will conclude with the master’s thesis defence, which will necessarily be public.
The assessment conditions to be met, regarding the obligation to have successfully completed the planned assessments provided for in the other curricular subjects, must be reflected in the report of the corresponding degree.
Master’s Thesis Requirements
The Curriculum may include special conditions that are necessary to enrol or defend the master’s thesis.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2026–2027
* Students wishing to sit the November final examinations must expressly apply via CAU between 15 September and 15 October 2026.
Extraordinary November 2026 Examination Session:
- Application for a topic and supervisor: from 21 September to 2 October 2026.
- Submission of preliminary proposals: from 21 September to 2 October 2026.
- Submission of the Master’s Thesis to the supervisor for review: by 9 October 2026 for defences in November and by 15 January 2027 for defences in February.
-Submission of the Master’s Thesis: from 19 to 23 October 2026 for defences in November and from 25 to 29 January 2027 for defences in February.
-Master’s Thesis defence: from 3 to 28 November 2026 and from 5 to 23 February 2027.
Regular Call for Applications – JANUARY 2027:
-Application for a topic and supervisor: from 5 October to 30 October 2026.
-Submission of preliminary drafts: from 3 November to 13 December 2026.
-Submission of the Master’s Thesis to the Supervisor for review: by 18 January 2027.
-Submission of the Master’s Thesis: from 4 to 8 February 2027. -Master’s Thesis defence: from 18 to 23 February 2027.
Extraordinary Call for Applications – JULY 2027:
-Application for a topic and supervisor for students who have not yet been allocated one: from 22 February to 19 March 2027.
-Submission of preliminary proposals: from 5 to 30 April 2027.
-Submission of the Master’s Thesis to the supervisor for review: by 4 June for defences in July and by 9 July 2027 for defences in September.
-Submission of the Master’s thesis: from 21 June to 2 July for defences in July and from 19 to 23 July 2027 for defences in September.
-Master’s thesis defence: from 7 to 29 July and from 1 to 4 September 2027.
