Structure of the Degree
The double degree design has been developed thanks to the common competencies that are shared by the independent degrees stated in this report. Double degree’s students will take a total of 91 ECTS distributed in two academic years which comprise all the compulsory subjects of the Master's in Secondary Education Teaching (Biology and Geology specialisations), including Internships and the Master’s Thesis in Secondary Education Teaching (second semester) and the possibility of taking one of the three pathways/specialisations that are offered in the Master’s in Sustainable Use. The third semester is mainly used for the preparation of the Master’s Thesis in Sustainable Use and the completion of the chosen pathway, if applicable.
Given that, the “Master’s in Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Services” offers specialisations, double degree students may achieve any of the specialisations if they meet the requirements established in the master's for such purpose (18 ECTS) or to complete the master's without specialisations:
- Specialisation "Research on the Sustainable Use of Resources and Global Change"
- Specialisation "Adaptation Techniques to Global Change and Mitigation of its Effects”
- Specialisation "Sustainability Management"
Double degree students must enrol and carry out two Master’s Thesis in compliance with the current rules applied to the linked degrees. Under no circumstances, both Master’s Thesis may join in the same public defence and must have different extension and contents in compliance with the ECTS load of each degree.
