Presentation

The general objective of the (Inter) University Master's in Chemical Engineering from the Universities of Almeria (UAL), Cadiz (UCA) and Malaga (UMA) is to provide specialised training to students so that they can work professionally as Chemical Engineers, and to provide R&D+i training in Chemical Engineering in a way that makes it possible to opt for later doctoral studies in the Chemical Engineering field.

The Master’s in Chemical Engineering complements the studies of the Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering / Industrial Chemical Engineering, deepening and extending the knowledge already acquired.

-The students will acquire the technical knowledge and professional skills necessary to organize, design and control production in chemical and bioprocessing plants, as well as to manage and develop quality control and environmental management plans.

-They will gain expertise in conceiving, calculating, designing, constructing and operating installations or equipment in which matter experiences a change in state, energy content or composition.

The traditional scope of chemical engineers with a master's degree ranges from business ventures to knowledge creation and transfer centres at different levels of engineering, production, R&D or management. Among the areas offering the most important professional opportunities are:

  • The petrochemical, agrifood, pharmaceutical, bioprocessing, biotechnology industries, etc.
  • Private and public sector research. R&D laboratories and institutions.
  • Administration.
  • Engineering companies.
  • Freelance work: carrying out projects on request.
  • Teaching in secondary and higher education.
  • The services and commercial sector.
  • Auditing (energy, environmental, etc.) and consultancy on new projects, investments, etc.
  • Starting one's own company. The dynamism of chemical engineers enables them to have the ideas and momentum necessary to run their own business.
