ATTENTION:

In the 2023-24 academic year the following specialisations are not offered:

  • Specialisation in "Intensive Horticulture".
  • Specialisation in "Post-harvest and Quality Control".

img_7078012.jpgThe Master's in Mediterranean Greenhouse Horticulture (HMI) arose from the merger of 2 previous master's degrees offered by UAL since 2005, in order to create a unique degree specialising in horticulture and benefiting from all the production-related training that takes place in Almeria’s horticultural sector.

The training acquired in this curriculum aims to provide future graduates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to seek innovative solutions that will contribute to increasing productivity, improving the quality of agricultural products and the environment, as well as to the continual advance of this sector, which has made Almeria province a world reference in protected horticultural production.

The training orientation towards research, innovation and development of multi-disciplinary technical solutions applied to the engineering, design, management and equipment used in protected horticultural production systems is highlighted.

The master's has a teaching team comprising prestigious researchers from the University of Almeria, visiting university teachers from other campuses, and professional experts from the sector. They will introduce students to the latest trends and the realities of the research and business environment, allowing them to acquire a comprehensive view of the sector.

This comprehensive training includes a series of technical visits to research centres and companies, as well as curricular internships in companies covered by this official master's degree programme, all of which will facilitate their insertion into work or research at the end of the programme. Being able as a Master's student to expand this practical training by accessing the great offer of extracurricular internships offered by companies and research and development centres from the sector.
