Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October (Spanish Official Gazette 30/10/2007), as amended by Royal Decree 861/2010 of 2 July (Spanish Official Gazette 03/07/2010), establishing the organization of official university education, states in Article 6 that, in order to implement the mobility of students, within the national territory and outside of it, universities shall develop and publish their rules regarding the system for recognising and transferring credits, subject to the general criteria laid down therein.
General Information
In the new studies of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, regulated by Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, modified by Royal Decree 861/2010, of 2 July, two new academic concepts are created: Recognition and Transfer of credits.
Recognition is the acceptance by the University of Almeria of the credits that, having been obtained from official higher education courses, in the same or in another University, can be counted in other distinct courses studied at our University for the purpose of obtaining an official degree. Credits from other official higher education courses, the University’s own degrees, or from work and/or professional experience may also be recognized.
Transfer is the recording, in the official academic accreditation documents, of the studies followed by each student, of all the credits obtained in official higher education previously followed at the University of Almeria or at other EHEA universities, that have not led to the student obtaining an official degree. Therefore, they are credits obtained in other previous student records that have not been recognized.
