Structure of the Degree

The duration of the Bachelor's Degree in Economics is four years, divided into eight semesters, each one has 30 ECTS.

The curriculum is organised in twelve modules. The definition of the modules used in accordance with the distribution of the training contents is the following one:

  • Module 1. Basic Training in Economic and Business Sciences
  • Module 2. Further Economics and Statistics
  • Module 3. Further Law and Business
  • Module 4. Quantitative Methods
  • Module 5. Economics of Public Sector
  • Module 6. Spanish and International Economics
  • Module 7. Economic Analysis
  • Module 8. Spanish Tax System
  • Module 9. Agrarian and Environmental Economics
  • Module 10. History and Economic Institutions
  • Module 11. Organisation and Finance
  • Module 12. Professional Prospects

The degree will permit that those who take 24 specific elective ECTS may obtain the following mention/mentions:

Mention 1: “Economic Analysis” (24 ECTS), composed of the subjects:

  • Microeconomics IV
  • Macroeconomics IV
  • Econometrics III
  • Economic Policy

Mention 2: "Environment and Development" (24 ECTS), is composed of the subjects:

  • Business and Competition Law
  • Organizational Economics
  • Environmental Economics
  • Poverty, Migrations and Development Cooperation

Students must not compulsorily take a mention, may choose the elective subjects among those offered in the degree until completing the 24 ECTS required, in this case, they will achieve a Bachelor's Degree in Economics but without mention.

Elective subjects:
Students of this bachelor's degree may cover their elective academic load:

  • a) Taking the elective subjects included in this report.
  • b) Up to 6 ECTS credits if they prove their participation in cultural, sports, student representation, supportive and collaborative activities as it is set out in article 12.8 of the Royal Decree 1393/2007 with the limits established in such regulations, and in accordance with the procedure established in the Credit Recognition and Transfer Rules of the University of Almeria.
