Structure of the Degree

CREDITS TO BE TAKEN: 354 ECTS
PLANNED ACADEMIC YEARS: 5
TIMETABLE: Morning (preferably).
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:

  • The first year will be implemented in the 2017-2018 academic year (72 ECTS credits).
  • The second year will be implemented in the 2018-2019 academic year (72 ECTS credits).
  • The third year will be implemented in the 2019-2020 academic year (72 ECTS credits).
  • The fourth year will be implemented in the 2020-2021 academic year (72 ECTS credits).
  • The fifth year will be implemented in the 2021-2022 academic year (66 ECTS credits).

 

  • REMARKS ON MODERN LANGUAGES.
Modern Languages
  • To obtain this Bachelor's Degree, it is a prerequisite to have completed 24 ECTS in the chosen language (comprising the subjects MODERN LANGUAGE AND ADVANCED MODERN LANGUAGE), other than Spanish, among the languages offered in the degrees that comprise it. As the double bachelor's degree is composed of both degrees, students who choose the double degree must opt for (German, Arabic, French) or any other language offered for this degree by the Faculty of Humanities.

    Modern English, of the Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Philology is excluded from this double degree because it is incompatible with the Bachelor's Degree in English Studies.

  • This degree provides for, as the two Bachelor's Degrees that comprise it, that the achievement of the 24 ECTS cycle, corresponding to MODERN LANGUAGE and ADVANCED MODERN LANGUAGE subjects allow reaching a maximum good command of the language equivalent to B2+ of the European Framework.

  • The student will take the complete language throughout the four years, taking into account that the language can be:

  • German:. German I, German II, German III and German IV.
    Arabic: Arabic I, Arabic II, Arabic III and Arabic IV.
    French: French I, French II, French III and French IV.

  • Foreign students must accredit their Spanish Language knowledge with at least a B1 level (recommended B2).

Compulsory 3rd year
Compulsory Subjects
3rd year students must take one of the two following compulsory subjects:
  • Classical Tradition in English Literature: Gender Reception or
  • Classical Tradition in English Literature: Theatre Reception.
Students must also take one of the two following compulsory subjects:
  • Greek for English Studies or
  • Latin for English Studies
