Structure of the Degree

The Bachelor's Degree in Social Education by the University of Almeria is organised in four academic years, eight semesters, each one has 30 ECTS. Students must take 240 ECTS. The credit distribution is the following one:

Basic Training (60 ECTS):

The curriculum has a Basic Training module, three courses distributed throughout the two semesters of the first year.

  • Module 1: Conceptual and Contextual Basis of Social Education.

Compulsory Training (138 ECTS):

The curriculum has five Compulsory Training modules, which include twenty-two subjects distributed throughout the two semesters of the second, third and fourth years.

  • Module 2: Social Education Shape as Profession. Action/work fields.
  • Module 3: Analysis, Assessment and Research on Socio-educational Reality.
  • Module 4: Design, Development and Innovation of Plans, Programmes and Projects of Social Education.
  • Modulo 5: Running, Management and Coordination of Socio-educational Organisations.
  • Module 6: Socio-educational Action module.

Internships (20 ECTS) and Bachelor's Dissertation (6 ECTS):

The Curriculum has an Initiation to Professional Activities module of two subjects, Practicum (Internships) and the Bachelor's Dissertation distributed throughout the second and fourth years.

  • Module 7 of Initiation to Professional Activities and Bachelor's Dissertation.

Elective Training (6 ECTS):

Within the Curriculum, students must take 6 ECTS among those offered in the fourth year of this Bachelor's Degree.

  • Module 8: Elective subjects: Multiculturalism and Social Integration from a Critical Perspective.

Likewise, to complete all the elective credits required to achieve the Bachelor's Degree, students may choose some of the courses offered in the General Catalogue of Elective Courses or obtaining their recognition after proving their participation in cultural, sports, student representation, supportive and collaborative activities as it is set out in article 12.8 of the Royal Decree 1393/2007.
