This bachelor's degree is aimed at training specialists in all processes that have to do with the physicochemical transformation of raw materials into products on an industrial scale.

It aims to achieve knowledge in process and product design, including conception, calculation, analysis, construction, commissioning and operation of equipment and installations where processes that include changes in composition, state, or energy content are carried out, characteristic of the chemical industry and other related sectors.

Taking into account their environmental impact, economic analysis, rational and efficient use of resources, security and quality.

Suggested profile for newly enrolled students

The recommended applicant profile of the degree is oriented towards those students who have studied or come from the Science and Technology branch of Upper Secondary Education and Higher Level Vocational Training.

The students shall have adequate prior training in mathematics and chemistry, appropriate to their previous studies. The ability to observe and analyze, ability and speed for numerical calculation and resolution of quantifiable problems, as well as logical and abstract reasoning are also very important. The ability to establish relationships between the observed reality and the description of it by mathematical models is also very desirable.

Personal attitudes of initiative, capacity for team cooperation, personal organization of work, ability to work under pressure, leadership, responsibility and interest in the practical application of knowledge for the resolution of real problems are highly appreciated. Finally, manual skill in the handling of instruments or equipment will be widely used during and after studies.
