Chemistry is a branch of Science that studies the structure of matter, as well as its properties, especially the reactions that transform some substances into others.

It is an empirical science based on experimentation. Because of its importance, it has been one of the most established basic sciences for centuries.

Many of the advances that have contributed to improving the quality of life in the world are due to the progress made in Chemistry.

It contributes to the development of fields as disparate and important today as cancer treatment, molecular machines and computer materials technology.
