ABSTRACT:

The NAMOR project aims to revolutionize decentralized water and wastewater management by developing compact, modular systems tailored for diverse geographical, climatic, and economic conditions. Leveraging advanced microalgae-bacteria co-cultures integrated with membrane photobioreactors (MPBRs), NAMOR emphasizes high-quality water reuse and nutrient recovery while minimizing energy demands. The project incorporates cutting-edge digital tools, including AI and digital twin models, to optimize operations and enable predictive performance adjustments, enhancing system efficiency and sustainability.

NAMOR's multidisciplinary consortium, spanning academia, research institutions, SMEs, and NGOs across Europe, India, and South Korea, fosters innovative solutions for wastewater treatment. Through pilot demonstrations in Greece, Finland, and Slovenia, the project showcases versatile configurations to address local wastewater challenges. By engaging stakeholders in co-creation and developing scalable business models, NAMOR promotes policy recommendations, citizen participation, and market integration, contributing to sustainable and circular water resource management.
